Wilburton Public Schools December 15, 2020 Wilburton Public Schools (WPS) was notified that two more high school students and three faculty members have tested positive for COVID-19.   Wilburton Public Schools has been in contact with the Oklahoma State Department of Health concerning this situation, and contact tracing has been completed. Notice: Cancellation of all School Activities

Wilburton Public Schools December 15, 2020 Effective immediately, all Wilburton Public Schools (WPS) activities are cancelled until after Christmas including the Wilburton High School Basketball Tournament which was scheduled for this Thursday-Saturday. For now, athletic practices may resume on Monday, December 28, 2020. Notice: COVID-19 and Distance Learning (December 15-17)

Wilburton Public Schools December 14, 2020 Wilburton Public Schools (WPS) has been working diligently today with parents and the OSDH in an effort to contact trace and quarantine exposed students and staff.  Also, WPS has COVID tests pending that could result in more student and staff quarantines.  Our county suffered its highest increase in COVID-19 numbers last week and is continuing to experience an increased spread of the virus in the community.  At this time, WPS feels the safest school option for our students, families, and community is distance learning.  All WPS students will transition to distance learning tomorrow, December 15, and continue through Thursday, December 17. WPS will provide meals for our students each day by using a drive-through pickup from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on the west side of the elementary auditorium. For now, all scheduled activities will continue. Notice: Confirmed Exposure and Quarantine for WES 4th-grade boys Diggers Basketball Team

Wilburton Public Schools December 10, 2020 Wilburton Public Schools (WPS) was notified this morning that a Whitefield Elementary School 4th-grade boys basketball player has tested positive for COVID-19.  This player participated in the game with our WES 4th-grade boys Digger Basketball team on Tuesday, December 8.  The player did not have symptoms before or during the game. Wilburton Public Schools December 9, 2020 Wilburton Public Schools (WPS) was notified this morning that a Tishomingo High School female basketball player has tested positive for COVID-19.  This player participated in the game with our WHS Lady Digger Basketball team on Tuesday, December 8.  The player did not have symptoms before or during the game. WPS Updated CDC and OSDH Guidelines

Wilburton Public Schools December 4, 2020 Notice: Updated CDC and OSDH Guidelines   Wilburton Public Schools will adhere to the updated CDC guidelines concerning quarantine length for COVID contacts.  These guidelines can shorten the length of the contact’s quarantine through testing and mask-wearing.  In order to qualify for the shortened quarantine, the contact must be symptom-free.  These updated guidelines will be available for all WPS students and staff and will be updated on our WPS website at https://wilburtondiggers.org/journey-to-learning.
