Notice: COVID-19 and Distance Learning
Wilburton Public Schools (WPS) has been working diligently today with parents and the OSDH in an effort to contact trace and quarantine exposed students and staff. Also, WPS has COVID tests pending that could result in more student and staff quarantines. Our county has suffered its highest increase in COVID-19 numbers in the last few weeks and is continuing to experience an increased spread of the virus in the community. At this time, WPS feels the safest school option for our students, families, and community is distance learning. All WPS students will transition to distance learning tomorrow, Tuesday. January 19, and continue through Friday January 22. WPS will provide meals for our students for the rest of the week tomorrow Tuesday, January 19 using a drive-through pickup from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on the west side of the elementary auditorium. All WPS scheduled activities will be cancelled or postponed during this time also. WPS is advising all students and staff to stay home if they are sick, have been exposed to COVID-19, or have a COVID-19 test pending. Please visit www.wilburtondiggers.org for more information concerning our COVID-19 guidance and safety protocols. Wear your mask, watch your distance, wash your hands, and stay safe.
