Notice: COVID-19 and Distance Learning (December 15-17)

Wilburton Public Schools

December 14, 2020

Wilburton Public Schools (WPS) has been working diligently today with parents and the OSDH in an effort to contact trace and quarantine exposed students and staff.  Also, WPS has COVID tests pending that could result in more student and staff quarantines.  Our county suffered its highest increase in COVID-19 numbers last week and is continuing to experience an increased spread of the virus in the community.  At this time, WPS feels the safest school option for our students, families, and community is distance learning.  All WPS students will transition to distance learning tomorrow, December 15, and continue through Thursday, December 17. WPS will provide meals for our students each day by using a drive-through pickup from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on the west side of the elementary auditorium. For now, all scheduled activities will continue. WPS is advising all students and staff to stay home if they are sick, have been exposed to COVID-19, or have a COVID-19 test pending.  Please visit for more information concerning our COVID-19 guidance and safety protocols.  Wear your mask, watch your distance, wash your hands, and stay safe this Holiday Season.
