NOTICE: Confirmed case of COVID-19 in our school

Wilburton Public Schools

November 1, 2020

Dear Parents, Faculty, and Community Members. We have received notification that a Wilburton High School student has tested positive for COVID-19. The positive person is asymptomatic and doing well at this time. Since the student was asymptomatic, we will trace back two days before the positive test, October 27. The students, faculty, or staff that were in close contact with that individual are being notified and mandated to quarantine at home for 14 days from the last date of exposure.

If you do not receive a phone call today from the school, you have not been identified as being in close contact with the positive individual; however, we believe one of our greatest responsibilities is to communicate transparently with you and the community. We are following CDC guidelines and protocols set by the State Department of Health and in our RE-Opening Plan that the district implemented on the first day of school policies and procedures to decrease potential spread between classes.

Dr. Trice Butler, Superintendent Wilburton Public School

Due to COVID-19 concerns and excessive student absences, Wilburton Public Schools will be closed for Thursday and Friday, January 13-14, 2022.   All school activities
