Hayley Myers – Class of 2013

Hayley graduated from Wilburton High School in 2013. Her bloodlines run deep in Digger Pride, as she was a 4thgeneration graduate of WHS. After high school, she pursued a degree in Occupational Safety and Health. She graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with her Bachelors of Science in 2017.

Upon graduation from college, Hayley moved to Houston, Texas to work for Clark Construction as a safety engineer. She worked on the new Ellington Air Field Control Tower project in Webster, Texas and the new Houston Police Department Jail Facility in downtown Houston.

Once those two projects were completed, Hayley found her way back to Wilburton to be closer to her family and mom who was going through treatment for breast cancer. She is currently pursuing a degree in Nursing from Eastern Oklahoma State College. Upon completion of that degree, Hayley plans to work as an RN, then work her way back into the safety side of the medical field for a large scale hospital.

Hayley lives in Wilburton with her two dogs, Daisy and Bo. She loves traveling, reading, spending time outdoors, and most of all, being with her family and friends. Hayley’s quote that she wants all high school students to know is by Ed Helms, “Don’t be afraid of fear because it sharpens you, it challenges you, it makes you stronger; and when you run away from fear, you also run away from the opportunity to be your best possible self.”
