Even though it does not feel like it yet, Fall is officially here, and for Wilburton Public Schools that means the sounds of the “Purple Pride,” softball bats swinging, cheers being practiced, and the Friday Night Lights turning on again. Our first football game is this Friday, September 4, 2015 at Talihina with our first home game against Quinton next Friday the 11th. Our high school softball team is currently ranked 12th in the state. WHS Cheerleaders look terrific and not only will be cheering at football games, but once again will enter competition at regionals on the 19th.
In their halftime shows, our band will be featuring the music of Queen. Expectations are running very high for all of these groups, and I want to thank the coaches and directors for their dedication and time to our students.
Wilburton has great young people, and we, at Wilburton Public Schools, are the fortunate ones to have them each day in our lives. It is our desire to do our very best to prepare them for successful careers and for living abundant, character-filled lives.
"In the end, we are all the sum total of our actions. Character cannot be counterfeited, nor can it be put on and cast off as if it were a garment to meet the whim of the moment." Madame Chiang Kai-Shek
